HVAC Built for OKC's Weather,
Not a Generic Playbook

It's no surprise HVAC systems here work harder than almost anywhere else in the region.

The Swing

A hard swing, summer to winter

Oklahoma City summers push triple digits for weeks at a time, and our winters can drop into single digits overnight. That kind of swing wears out HVAC systems fast.

The Homes
Mesta ParkCrown HeightsPaseo District

Older homes, harder hit

That swing is hardest on the older homes scattered through Mesta Park, Crown Heights, and the Paseo District.

The Extras
Spring stormsPower surgesDust & pollen

Storms, surges, and dust

Spring storms knock out power and send surges through your system. Then there's the dust and pollen that come with living in Oklahoma.

Common Mistake

Fixing only the symptom you called about.

Air Works Insight

Homeowners usually call us about one symptom, the AC isn't cooling, the air feels dusty, without realizing the two are often connected. A filter that's overdue makes your system work harder and lets more of Oklahoma's dust and pollen through at the same time. We check the whole system, not just the part you called about.

OKC is Air Works' home turf, and that means we've seen just about every kind of housing stock this city has: century-old bungalows in Mesta Park and Crown Heights, mid-century ranches, and brand-new builds on the edges of the metro. Every homeowner deserves the same thing, a straight answer about what's actually wrong instead of an upsell. That's how we've operated since day one, and it's why OKC keeps calling us back.

How It Works

How Service Works When You Call Air Works

We keep the process simple because we know you didn't call us for entertainment.
You called because something's wrong and you want it fixed.

Call/Text (405) 694-3005

Reach us at (405) 694-3005 during business hours, Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 5:00pm. We take weekend calls by appointment too, which matters in a city where AC units seem to fail on Saturday afternoons in July.

Before we ever show up, we try to understand what's happening. Is the system not cooling at all? Making noise? Running constantly? This helps us bring the right parts the first time.

We don't guess, and we don't upsell. Every visit starts with a real diagnosis. You'll know exactly what's wrong and what it costs before we touch anything.

If something isn't right after we leave, we come back and make it right. That's not a slogan for us. It's how Andrew has run this company since 2018.

What We See

Common HVAC Problems We See in Oklahoma City Homes

OKC's HVAC calls run the full range, from original ductwork in older homes around Mesta Park, Crown Heights, and the Paseo District to sizing issues in the newest builds farther out.

AC freezing up

Why it happens in OKC: Low refrigerant or dirty coils from summer dust.

What we do: Diagnose the root cause, not just thaw and go.

Furnace short cycling

Why it happens in OKC: Aging systems in homes built before 2000.

What we do: Inspect ignition, airflow, and thermostat wiring.

Uneven cooling upstairs

Why it happens in OKC: Poor duct design common in older OKC additions.

What we do: Check duct sizing and airflow balance.

High summer electric bills

Why it happens in OKC: Undersized or aging AC units working overtime.

What we do: Evaluate whether repair or replacement makes sense.

Dusty, dry indoor air

Why it happens in OKC: Oklahoma wind and clay soil.

What we do: Recommend filtration and humidity solutions.

Homes in neighborhoods like Nichols Hills and Bethany often have original ductwork that was never designed for today's insulation standards. That mismatch is a big reason we see uneven cooling calls from those areas every summer.

Plan Ahead

Seasonal HVAC Needs
for Oklahoma City Homes

HVAC service in this city isn't a one-season job. What your system needs in July is nothing like what it needs in January.

SpringTune-up before the heat
SummerAC runs almost nonstop
FallFurnace check
WinterFirst cold snap

Summer in Oklahoma City

Once temperatures push past 95 degrees, your AC runs almost nonstop.

That's when this shows up
  • Refrigerant leaks
  • Weak capacitors
  • Clogged coils

We recommend a tune-up in spring, before the real heat hits, so small issues get caught while it's still 75 degrees outside instead of 105.

Winter in Oklahoma City

Furnaces here often sit unused for eight or nine months, then get switched on during the season's first cold snap.

That's exactly when this surfaces
  • Ignition problems
  • Blower motor issues

A fall check on your furnace catches most of these before you're stuck without heat on a 20-degree night.

Common Mistake

Waiting until the first heat wave or first freeze to think about your HVAC system. By then, you're often waiting in line behind everyone else who had the same idea. Scheduled maintenance means you're not competing for a same-day appointment during the busiest week of the year.

Your Visit

What to Expect During Your Visit

We know letting someone into your home is a bigger deal than it sounds.
Here's what a typical Air Works visit looks like.

The VisitEvery call, start to finish
  1. 01
